Latvia handed another early Eurovision exit

Saturday night's Eurovision final will be a Latvia-free zone after this year's entry, Sudden Lights, failed to make it out of Tuesday night's semi-final.

Social media was of the opinion they gave a competent rendition of their pleasant song "Aijā", but competence and being pleasant proved insufficient to book a place in the final. Of 15 acts taking part in the first semi-final, ten will return on Saturday.

It means Latvia again extends its record of not making a Eurovision final since 2016. Nevertheless, it is highly likely we'll all be back for yet another masochistic attempt next year.

The second semi-final will take place on May 11 and will include both Estonia and Lithuania.
