Soloists, duos and groups with no more than six members are invited to apply for Supernova participation. The song submitted for the competition must not have been published, played or performed at public events before September 1, 2023. Foreign citizens have the opportunity to participate in the competition only as lyricists, music authors or producers, but not as performers.
Latvia's recent record in Eurovision is dismal, having failed to make the final every year since 2016. Nevertheless, Supernova offers national-level fun to fans of this sort of music. Next year's Eurovision Song Contest will be held in May in Malmö, Sweden.
So if you are a talented musical performer who wants some national exposure and deals well with rejection, you will find the rules of the contest attached to this story and an application form here. Applications for songwriters and performers will remain open until November 30.
The songs making the cut – in the opinion of the all-powerful jury – will be announced in January 2024, and the Supernova TV shows themselves will air in February to decide who gets the ticket for the short trip across the Baltic Sea to Malmö.
