The new Ukrainian-Latvian musical group "Shakima Trio" will perform in Auce on July 22, during the Auce city festival, when Shakima Trio will be special guests onstage at Vecauce Castle Park. Entrance to the concert will be free.

After first performing in May the ethnic music trio has already started work on a debut album. Shakima Trio consists of colorful Ukrainian folklorist, singer and violinist Shakima Garunts, Jānis Ruņģis, a guitarist, clarinetist and experimental sampling expert, and experienced bass guitar player Ainārs Majors, well-known from his work with various other bands.

"The Shakima Trio concert program is based on delicate musical combinations - in it you can hear both ambient compositions with the roots of magical Ukrainian ancient folklore, and dynamic, rhythmic, life-affirming songs, enriching the message with a passionate stage performance," says advance publicity material.
