Such was the result of the final of the "Supernova" selection competition final held on February 11. The winner of the competition was determined based on the total score of the viewing audience's calls and text messages and the vote of a jury, the composition of which has not been made public.
Sudden Lights will next perform in the first semi-final of the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest proper on May 9. Serbia, Sweden, Ireland, Moldova, Switzerland, Norway, Israel, Portugal, Netherlands, Croatia, Finland, Azerbaijan, Malta and the Czech Republic will also participate. The second semi-final of Eurovision will be held on May 11, and the grand final on May 13.
Sudden Lights will be hoping to improve upon Latvia's dismal recent record in Eurovision. The last time Latvia made the grand final was seven years ago when singer Justs finished 15th in the 2016 competition.
