Ukrainians in Latvia and volunteers involved in assistance work are particularly invited to the sunrise concert.
The authors and organizers of the event, the Ezera skaņas festival, stressed the importance of ensuring public meetings to share stories and feelings with each other, and of creating joint events to promote the inclusion of Ukrainian people in the cultural life of Rīga. It must be noted, however, that Rīga's cultural life is not usually the most active at 6 in the morning, especially while it's freezing outside.
The event has a pop-up character with a makeshift stage, coffee, and biscuits. Visitors are invited to take breakfast, warm blanket and picnic chairs. Similar arrangements at this venue are scheduled to take place every Saturday afternoon of the month ahead. Cash donations to support Ukraine will also be collected during the event.
