Supernova explodes again Saturday

The blood pressure of Eurovision fans is set to rise this weekend as Latvia's 'Supernova' selection process reaches its climax.

Ten acts were originally said to have advanced to the final showdown of the Eurovision selection contest 'Supernova' following a televised selection round on February 5, but it was subsequently announced that an extra place in the final would go to Miks Dukurs, "because due to an unforeseen technical failure in the live broadcast of the semi-final on February 5, the artist's song 'First Love' sounded without the intended sound effects."

So there will be eleven contenders, after all. On Saturday, February 12 they will be boiled down to one residual act that will be sent to Turin in May to compete as Latvia's entry.

Supernova airs on LTV at 21:05 Rīga time and is scheduled to last three hours. It is also available online at REplay.lv. and on LTV7 with sign language interpretation.
