Latvian hockey players to be awarded EUR 5,000 for championship results

After winning the third place in the world championship in hockey, the Latvian hockey team, their coaches, and support staff, will receive a cash reward from the state budget – a total of 44 people will receive €5,000 each, the government decided on Thursday, June 1.

Overall, athletes, coaches and all service staff will receive €220,000.

For the further development of hockey, the Latvian Hockey Federation will receive €356,716 of which €250 000 will be channeled to the youth and youth hockey training process.

The remaining amount – €106 716 – will have to be devoted to the development of hockey.

Premiums will be awarded from the contingency budget.
