Latvia's 3 x 3 basketball team, consisting of Kārlis Lasmanis, Nauris Miezis, Agnis Čavars and Francis Lācis, ended the World Cup in third place in Vienna on Sunday, providing a place for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games qualifying tournament.

The Latvian team won against Brazil in the battle for bronze awards with a result of 22:12.

After entering the match with 1: 3, the Latvians continued to take control with a seven-point lead (12: 5), which was then increased to ten points, leading to a convincing victory.

In the finals, Serbia scored a win over the U.S. with 21:19.

The Latvian men's team will take part in the European tournament in Krakow in mid-June and in early September at the European Championship in Jerusalem.

Latvia achieved its best result so far in 2019, when silver medals were won in Amsterdam.
