Take note – story published 2 years ago

Latvia – Germany game on June 1 will decide whether the Latvian team will be able to play in the quarter-finals. This will be a game that will also be watched by spectators. Late Monday evening, championship organizers came up with guidelines for entering the arena.

Fans will be able to purchase tickets on the official site of the IIHF World Championship in Hockey in 2021.

Who can attend games?

  • Residents of Latvia whose certificate indicates that the person has been vaccinated against Covid-19 in Latvia and 14 days had passed after completion of the full vaccination course, or between 22 and 90 days after receiving the first dose of AstraZeneca vaccine.
  • Persons who have had Covid-19 infection within the last half-year and can prove it with a digital Covid-19 certificate.

The purchase of tickets will take place only on the Internet. The ticket must be personalized, with the visitor's first and last name. The personalized ticket will only be valid together with the identity document of the person whose name is shown on the ticket.

Before purchasing the ticket, it should be verified that the data on the vaccination of a person have been entered into the e-health system and that the vaccination certificate can be downloaded. Those who have had Covid-19 must make sure that this fact can be proven by the certificate.

Limit for the purchase of tickets: not more than two tickets per person per game.

Digital Covid-19 certificates and obtaining them

As from 1 June, two types of digital certificates will be available: the certificate attesting vaccination; the Covid-19 certificate on the condition of sickness.

To print a certificate for yourself from June 1:

  • press the “View your certificates” (Apskatīt savus sertifikātus) button on the website;
  • authenticate with one of the means of safe access (Internet bank, eID card, mobile ID);
  • request and view certificates in the system;
  • select the certificate you want and print it.

Download your digital Covid-19 certificate and check it on the website. Upload the certificate and make sure that the certificate qualifies for a visit to the hockey championship.

The availability of the certificate on the website must be checked before going to the game. It should be noted that the certificate may be invalid if it does not comply with additional criteria, for example, the number of days concerned following the date of receipt of the vaccine will not have passed.

How do I get into the arena?

Visitors' entry into the Arena Riga territory will be organised from Skanstes Street, while at the Olympic Sports Centre from Vesetas Street.

Visitors will be allowed into arenas not earlier than 45 minutes before the game starts. Meanwhile, the outside perimeter will open two hours before the game starts.

At the entrance: a personalized ticket, a personal identification document, a certificate of vaccination or illness will be checked, and an inspection will be carried out to ensure that prohibited items are not brought into place. No food and drink should be brought into the arenas. Mouth and nose covers must be used.

The total number of viewers in Arena Riga will not exceed 2660 persons and 1058 persons at the Olympic Sports Centre.
