EuroBasket 2025 will be played in September of that year, and Latvia will host one group stage, as well as the knockout rounds and medal matches.

Cyprus, Ukraine and Finland will host the other three group stages. The national teams that will compete for glory in the big event will emerge from a qualification process. Its preliminary stage, the Pre-Qualifiers, commenced in November 2021 and is already underway.
Latvia last hosted the European Championships in 1937, as well as hosting a group stage during EuroBasket 2015. It also hosted the women's Eurobasket tournaments in 2009 and 2019.
