Latvian pair secure second place in World Cup bobsleigh

Take note – story published 5 years ago

The Latvian pairing of Oskars Kibermanis and Matīss Miknis took second place on December 8 on home ground - or home ice - in the World Cup bobsleigh event taking place at Sigulda.

"It feels good," Kibermanis said afterwards, although pusher Matīss Miknis said the pair had hoped to win at home. Kibermanis admitted that victory had eluded them due to mistakes made on the first of two runs.

First place was claimed by Germany's pairing of Friedrich and Schuller with Austria's Maier and Sammer in third.
