No medals for Dukurs brothers in Beijing

Latvia's hopes of Olympic medals in the men's skeleton competition were dashed February 11 with brothers Martins and Tomass Dukurs making the top ten at the Winter Olympics in Beijing, but missing out on podium places.

Multiple world champion Martins managed 7th place after four runs, with Tomass just behind in 9th in what is likely to be their last Olympic competition.

German competitors dominated the podium with Christopher Grotheer securing gold ahead of team-mate Axel Jungk in silver position and local favorite Wengang Yan delighting the crowd by winning bronze with a barnstorming final run.
