Latvia's Andrejs Rastorgujevs scored a gold medal at the men's ten-kilometer sprint at the Biathlon European Championships event in Italy.

He missed a single target and finished in 24m03s with Russia's Alexandr Loginov trailing him 5.5 seconds while Bulgaria's Krasimir Anev placing third, 24.5 seconds behind Rastorgujevs.

The European Championships will conclude on January 28. This is the last championship before the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.
