The Latvian central bank, Latvijas Banka (LB), and its partners are inviting everyone to sharpen up their financial skills during Financial Literacy Week 2022 from 21 to 27 March.

Non-governmental organizations, public authorities and businesses will organise a broad range of different free-of-charge activities during the week.

During Financial Literacy Week, more than 15 institutions will offer online and in-person events as well as information materials for young people, adults and the elderly. Everybody will enjoy an opportunity to learn more about subjects like investment, personal finance planning, building up wealth, saving for retirement and the detection of counterfeit currency.

Events include a seminar for teachers, publication of a teaching aid in economics for pre-school age children and teaching material about insurance. Various initiatives will offer both schoolchildren and adults a chance to learn the first steps in business.

Latvijas Banka will also issue a 2 euro commemorative coin dedicated to financial literacy during the Financial Literacy Week 2022.

The full calendar of events is available on the financial literacy website https://www.finansupratiba.lv/ikgadeja-nedela/.

Live coverage and materials will be available on the Facebook site "Financial literacy" https://www.facebook.com/Naudasprasme.
