"By organizing Latvian Days in Germany, we want to strengthen our economic cooperation and address potential investors," said LIAA Acting Director Iveta Strupkāja, adding that on April 2 and 3, the Minister of Economy and Innovation of the Free City of Hamburg will pay an official visit to Rīga together with a delegation of German businessmen.
During the Latvian Days in Germany from May 7 to 10, it is planned that the Minister of Transport Kaspars Briškens will participate in the official program of the Hamburg Port Festival and the Latvia-Hamburg Business Forum. which is being organized by the LIAA together with the Hamburg Ministry of Economy and Innovation, the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, and the Port of Hamburg.

Latvian Days in Germany will be held within the wider program of the Port of Hamburg festival from May 9 to 12. The Port of Hamburg is the third largest port in Europe. The Hamburg Port Festival is an annual event attended by up to 1.5 million city residents and visitors. In 2023, Germany was Latvia's third-largest destination for exported goods goods export and the second-largest source of imported goods. Latvia's export of goods to Germany was worth 1.30 billion euros, while the import of goods from Germany was 2.60 billion euros.
The most important export goods of Latvia to Germany are wood products, machinery, mechanical goods and electrical goods.
