"When it comes to attracting investment, the return of geopolitics on the agenda has made investors cautious at the moment," said the Minister.
"The existing companies that are doing business in Latvia and that have foreign owners inquire from time to time what is going on here and worry about security as soon as we show a stronger reaction to military threats. We then have to explain that it's safe here," she said.
She indicated that compared to 2013 the number of foreign investors' requests that the ministry has to process declined somewhat in 2014 but has been growing again in the first six months of this year.
