Water bills in Rīga to rise in October

In Riga, water prices will rise by more than 17% in October, according to information from the Public Service Regulation Commission (SPRK), LETA reported August 29.

The information published on the website of Rīga water supplier Rīgas ūdens indicates that customers currently have to pay €1.02 for the supply of one cubic meter of water. The tariff for sewer services is €0.91 per cubic meter.

As of October 1, the water tariff will be €1.20 per cubic meter, while the sewer tariff will be €1.21 per cubic meter.

Rīgas ūdens is the largest water management company in Latvia and provides water supply and sanitation infrastructure in Rīga and its vicinity.  Its sole owner is Rīga municipality.
