Latvian 'MatchWork' job-seeking platform launched internationally

On Monday, November 27, the Latvian social enterprise “All opportunities” (Visas iespējas) opens a virtual door to its job search platform, internationally called “MatchWork”, also integrating into the Croatian, Cyprus and Bulgarian markets, the enterprise said.

So far more than 1,700 Latvian young people and more than 80 Latvian companies have participated in the search for professional compatibility on the platform which was initially launched locally.

Organized under the “Go Remote” project funded by the European Economic Area (EEA) and the Norwegian Youth unemployment grant fund, this “work Tinder” focuses on introducing young people who do not work or study into the labor market through the remote working model by providing new skills and opportunities. The primary objective of the project is not only to keep track of labor market trends but also to open up prospective job opportunities for people from regions of Latvia, young mothers, and those who wish to adapt their work to their everyday lives. This target audience is also the primary target for the project partner countries Croatia, Cyprus, and Bulgaria.

The online platform “MatchWork,” addresses the painful issues of job search in an interesting and dynamic way - similar to dating apps - by facilitating and improving the experience of finding both work and employees. The participant must register on the platform and create a jobseeker profile, indicating their preferences and skills. Based on what is specified in the profile, the algorithm offers the participant the most appropriate vacancies. The candidate chooses the ones they like, which companies can see. If the jobseeker and employer have expressed mutual interest, “match” or “compatibility” is formed, followed by the next step – it is possible to easily talk and conduct an online job interview on the platform.

Although the primary target audience is young people, every Latvian citizen is invited to use the platform in search of the most appropriate job, as well as companies prepared to employ motivated young people.
