Rīga's Āgenskalns post office to close

On August 25, the 46th post office branch at Kalnciema Street 48 will close its doors and some residents of the Āgenskalns, Zasulauks, and Šampēteris districts will further be served at other branches, the Latvian postal service (Latvijas pasts, LP) has announced.

Some postal codes will also change. Those customers of the Kalnciema Street branch living closer to Āgenskalns will have their postal code changed from 1046 to 1083, and their respective postal office will be the 83rd branch near the Botanical Garden.

Those living in Šampēteris and Pleskodāle districts will have the same postal code as it was so far but their postal office branch will be the 29th in Zolitūde, Ruses Street.

You can find a list of addresses whose postal codes are changing on the Latvian Postal service website.

The main reason for the closure is indicated as issues with renting the space.
