On May 28, airBaltic welcomed the arrival of its 36th Airbus A220-300 aircraft with registration number "YL-ABJ", airBaltic representative Alise Bethere told LSM.lv.

This is the fourth of eight Airbus A220-300 aircraft scheduled to be delivered to airBaltic this year. The airline has ordered a total of 50 Airbus A220-300 aircraft, and retains the option to purchase another 30 aircraft of this type.

To date, airBaltic has carried almost eight million passengers on A220-300 aircraft. In total, the airline has flown more than 92,000 flights and flown more than 200,000 hours.

As of May 2020, airBaltic operates all flights exclusively with Airbus A220-300 aircraft and made headlines when it announced it would be among the first airlines to commit to the new model. It also has a dedicated flight simulator tailored to the model.
