Driving is difficult on the country's main roads A1, A2, A3, A4, A6, A8, A9, A10, A11, A12, A13, A14, A15, and P80. On regional roads, conditions are poor everywhere except around Alūksne, Bauska, Madona, Limbaži, and Valka.
On 42 gravel roads, a tonnage limit has been placed to avoid damaging the road. 10 tonnes is the maximum weight of the vehicle on those sections. The map of those roads is available here.
