The overwhelming majority of European countries are now deemed to have a "high public health threat", including Baltic neighbors Estonia and Lithuania which now have some of the highest Covid infection rates in Europe, along with Latvia itself.
The classification system rates travel to each country as low (green), high (yellow), or very high risk (red). No country has yet been ranked as very high risk.
Only nine countries make the green list. When entering Latvia from San Marino, Monaco, Malta, Czechia, Hungary, Liechtenstein, Spain, Poland and the Vatican, travellers do not need to undergo tests or observe self-isolation, though people who have not been vaccinated or who have not recovered from Covid will have to take a test before travelling to Latvia.
The rest of Europe is on the "yellow list" of countries are those in which the 14-day cumulative number of COVID-19 cases per 100,000 inhabitants exceeds 75.
