Three people died as a result of the accident Thursday night, and two required medical treatment. A fuel leak was detected and work is ongoing to absorb it.
As of 7 AM Friday, it was not yet known when traffic would be restored.
LVC asked that drivers use alternate routes, like Murjāņi-Sēja road (V79) and Ragana-Limbaži road (P6).
‼️🚧 Uz Valmieras šosejas (A3, 5. km) aiz Murjāņiem notikusi trīs automašīnu sadursme. @Valsts_policija informē, ka negadījuma vietā satiksme bloķēta. Ieteicamais apbraucamais ceļš pa vietējo autoceļu Murjāņi-Sēja (V79) un reģionālo ceļu Ragana-Limbaži (P6). Brauciet uzmanīgi! pic.twitter.com/pDBQC1C7qS
