Yet more Russian TV channels have the plug pulled in Latvia

The National Electronic Mass Media Council (NEPLP) has decided to ban 18 more Russian television channels from being broadcast in Latvia, according to LETA's information March 7.

NEPLP's chair Ivars Āboliņš said the decision had been taken in accordance with the Russian Gazprom Media Holding being on the sanctions list of the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). 

Television channels THT- Comedy" (THT - Комеди), "ТНТ 4", "THT4 International", "TNT" (THT), "THT Music", "FRIDAY International" (Пятница), "KHL TV channel", "Кинопремьера", "КИНОСВИДАНИЕ", "Мужское кино", "Ля-минор ТВ", "Авто Плюс - Телеканал Авто-Плюс", "Ностальгия", "Живи!", "Кто есть кто", "Малыш-ТВ", "Русская ночь", "Zee TV" have been banned. 

The decision takes effect immediately after publication in the Latvijas Vēstnesis official gazette this week. 

Over the past two weeks, a host of Russian TV channels have already been banned in Latvia.
