Latvian Television invites youth to 'Media Academy'

Latvian Television (LTV) invites young people aged 13 to 19 to apply for participation in a 'Media Academy'. Over several months, young people together with professionals will have the opportunity to acquire different content creation skills – film, interview, directing, and editing.

Registration takes place from January 4-18 on LSM.lv.

The LTV Media Academy's training process will run from February 2 this year until the end of May on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. Young people will have the opportunity to acquire both practical and theoretical skills needed to work on various media platforms, such as planning content, filming, interviewing, and editing videos. During training, young people will also have the opportunity to engage in the day-to-day activities of LTV – to observe behind the scenes of projects, as well as share their ideas to help improve future content.

At the LTV Media Academy, lectures and classes will be conducted by mentors and special guests – representatives of LTV and creative industries.

Training at the LTV Media Academy will be free of charge, also suitable for young people without prior media experience. Classes will take place at the Latvian Television building in Rīga, Zaķusalas krastmala 33.

Young people can apply to the LTV Media Academy by midnight on January 18, completing the questionnaire on LSM's Latvian-language service.
