Baiba Braže in Poland Thursday

Latvian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Baiba Braže, is on the second day of a two-day working visit to Poland June 20. 

In Warsaw, the Latvian Foreign Minister will meet with Radosław Sikorski, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland – the pair last met just a few days ago in Finland.

There are also meetings scheduled on the trip with Maciej Duszczyk, Deputy Minister of the Interior and Administration; Sławomir Dębski, Director of the Polish Institute of International Affairs; and Pavel Latushko, Deputy Head of the Joint Transitional Cabinet of the Belarusian Democratic Forces and Member of the Presidium of the Coordination Council, as well as with representatives from the Ukrainian Communications Group established by Poland and the United States of America.

The Ukrainian Communications Group is an initiative of Poland and the United States aimed at uniting communicators from different countries in order to join forces in support of Ukraine and its defensive efforts against the Russian war of aggression. The tasks of the communication group include counteraction to Russia’s global disinformation campaign. The group operates on the premises of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was officially launched on 10 June this year. The group also includes an expert from Latvia.

"During her visit, Baiba Braže will engage in a discussion with Polish officials on bilateral relations between Latvia and Poland, strengthening of regional security, security of external borders, support to Ukraine, the situation in Belarus, as well as current issues on the European Union and international agenda," said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs ahead of the trip.
