PM Kariņš says his U.S. trip was a success

Prime Minister Krišjānis Kariņš on July 15 talked up the results of his visit to the United States last week.

In a statement released on the official government website, Kariņš said his meetings with U.S. officials had brought "unanimous recognition" of efforts to clean up the banking sector and that he had "received assurances that the US will continue to support our security in the futurere."

During his Washington visit, Kariņš met with Vice President Mike Pence, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Financial Secretary Steven Mnuchin and Energy Secretary Rick Perry, among others.

He also appeared as a guest on a business podcast with Steve Forbes called "What's ahead" in which he can he heard "sharing why Latvia is a great bet for investment due to its highly-educated citizenry, its tech inventiveness and its dedication to cleaning up financial crime."
