Early voting for the European Parliament elections continued on Friday, June 7 with 945 polling stations in open from 13:00 to 18:00.

On June 8, the main election day, polling stations will be open from 8:00 to 20:00.

You must be aged 18 and over to vote, and need a passport or eID card. You can vote at any polling station without prior registration.

The locations of the polling stations are summarized here. On June 8, 50 polling stations will also be open to Latvian citizens abroad.

As reported, on Monday, June 3, 13,127 people, or 0.85% of those eligible to vote, used their first opportunity to vote in advance in Latvia. On Thursday, June 6, which was the second early election day, the turnout had risen to 4.1%. In the previous EP elections in 2019, the second early voting day had a similar turnout – 4.3%.

By the end of Friday, June 7, turnout had risen to 8.37%. In 2019 at the same stage of proceedings, turnout was just over 11% – suggesting that unless Saturday voting proves popular, turnout may not beat 2019's total turnout of 33.5%.

So far the most enthusiastic voters have been found in Saulkrasti, where turnout has already exceeded 17%.
