On December 9, the Saeima supported the draft decision on the extradition of deputy Jānis Ādamsons for criminal prosecution.

In June, Ādamsons was detained by the State Security Service on suspicion of spying for Russia.

60 parliamentarians voted in favour of the extradition of a Member to prosecution, while 18 members were against.

On December 1, the Prosecutor General's Office appealed to the Saeima, requesting consent for the initiation of criminal proceedings against Ādamsons.

The Member has been charged for offences referred to in Article 85, paragraph 1, Article 180, paragraph 1 and Article 233, paragraph 2 of the Criminal Law.
