Police seized about 50 kilograms of methamphetamine, 550 grams of cocaine and about 1,000 liters of precursors in the lab they found. An organized criminal group has been detained on suspicion of making, possessing and selling drugs.
The criminal proceedings had been launched late last year upon receiving to information about a group of individuals involved in the marketing of methamphetamine.
In total, three persons have been detained, two other individuals have been announced in search, including a person who had been invited from abroad as a chemist. Kronbergs did not disclose their nationality.
Some €100,000 had been invested in the laboratory and the substances needed for production are suspected to have come from Poland, said Kronbergs.
