Latvia's police show off stylish new look

Take note – story published 5 years ago

State Police officers are in line to get an updated look, with new uniform designs revealed December 7.

The poor quality and outdated uniforms currently in use have been a common source or complaint from officers, and the new stylings certainly look like an improvement.

The most eye-catching change is the introduction of forage caps in place of peaked caps for some officers, giving them a slightly more gendarme look than hitherto. There are also new high-visibility outer garments for the dark, long Baltic nights and some proper warm winter hats.

And as the photos provided by the police show, they coordinate very nicely indeed with the new liveries of their patrol cars.

So next time you get pulled over, at least you'll get your ticket from someone who looks extremely smart.
