Person shot dead in Purvciems, Rīga, Wednesday morning

In Rīga's Purvciems district, a person has been shot dead on Wednesday, April 14, according to information from the State Police.

According to information at the disposal of newswire LETA, the victim's identity has been confirmed as Romāns Bezzubovs, a football agent.

Information at the disposal of State Police indicates that there were at least two attackers driving a black BMW X5 with tinted rear windows. The right wing of the car was damaged. The vehicle's registration number could have been changed, including to a Russian Federation registration number.

The State Police is asking that drivers with cameras on their vehicles, who drove along Gunāra Astras Street from Dzelzavas to Deglava Street between 6:30 and 8:30 in the morning contact the police by calling 110, as they may be able to provide information relevant to the incident.

In connection with the events, Interior Minister Sandis Ģirģens has planned to organize a meeting on the internal security of Latvia with the participation of State Police, internal services, municipal and city unions.
