The BMW was snapped on the Riga-Daugavpils highway in Ikškile district November 16 at double the speed limit and more in a car that didn't even have the necessary technical paperwork to be on the road at all.
Its sporty wheels were somewhat undercut by its roof bars.
As the incriminating picture taken by the speed camera shows, the road was also wet at the time.
In the words of the state police: "Craziness has no limits".
The driver was issued with a 360 euro fine.
Pārgalvībai nav robežu! Mūsu pārvietojamais fotoradars fiksē kārtējo BMW vadītāju - ātrumpārkāpēju, šoreiz - 213 km/h pie atļautajiem 90 km/hhttps://t.co/achoCpYoE1 pic.twitter.com/eu5P9Y5giZ

The news of the ridiculous racer comes as police fight a battle on two fronts against speeders. Recent efforts to introduce more fixed speed cameras on Latvian highways have met some opposition, with several of the expensive pieces of equipment destroyed by persons unknown.
