Four international military drills planned in Latvia this spring

Four large international military exercises are planned in Latvia from March to June 2024, LETA reported on February 4.

The Crystal Arrow drills will be held in March. These will be NATO's enhanced forward presence in Latvia combat group certification exercises and National Armed Forces (NBS) mechanized infantry brigade headquarters and unit training to improve command management, plan and manage operations.

The Solar Eclipse IV, a tactical field training of combat support specialists with a focus on indirect fire support, will be held in April.

International regional military exercises “Saber Strike” organized by the U.S. Armed Forces in Europe and Africa are scheduled for April and May. The NBS plans to train unit compatibility in tactical operations as well as perform tactical marches.

Military exercises BALTOPS are scheduled for June, the largest and most elaborate naval force and service exercises in the Baltic Sea region.

More than 500 foreign military personnel will participate in each training in Latvia.
