Take note – story published 2 years ago

More than 30 trucks have left Latvia for Ukraine to deliver equipment and supplies to help Ukrainians defend themselves against Russia's despicable attack.

The consignment will be delivered by the National Defense Logistics and Procurement Center and will include individual equipment donated by the National Armed Forces to Ukrainian soldiers, including helmets, dry food, medical devices and medicines. It is also planned to deliver a large consignment of ammunition to Ukraine in the near future.

In addition, the relief cargo also includes food supplies and medical and basic necessities, as well as gauze bandages and disposable gloves.

Currently part of the funds donated by the public via the Ziedot.lv platform are being used to purchase 500 tonnes of diesel fuel for the needs of the Ukrainian army.

Minister of Defense Artis Pabriks said: “I am grateful for the generous donations of Latvian businesspeople and the public. With this help we can support Ukraine's efforts to protect its independence."

Companies that are ready and willing to donate first aid medical supplies, food with a long shelf life or other assistance to the Ukrainian Armed Forces should contact [email protected].

The Ministry of Defense cooperates with the charity organization Ziedot.lv, which has opened a donation fund to raise funds to help the people of Ukraine and coordinates the use of the donated funds to provide the necessary support and critical needs to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

In addition, the National Bank of Ukraine has opened an account in support of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to receive transfers from international partners and donors in both foreign currency (US dollars, euros, British pounds) and hryvnia. Account number: UA843000010000000047330992708.
