Another convoy heads from Rīga to Ukraine

Take note – story published 1 year ago

Sleeping bags for use in snow, Ukrainian army uniforms, special food and a pick-up truck adapted to host a large machine gun – on Monday, February 20, a convoy organized by the Confederation of Ukrainians in Latvia traveled to Bakhmut.

At the helm of the white van is Ukrainian Bogdan Timkiv. The van contains a very valuable cargo – uniforms for the army sewn in Latvia.

“The shape is very cool, and quality. I like it and all the soldiers like it,” Bogdan said. “One friend of mine stayed in Bakhmut, we were there four times this month, home one day. And today back to Ukraine.”

“If you need to lie down somewhere, in the snow, you wear pants and jacket under it, and you can sleep. The shape is practical, I've been wearing it every day for a third month. Nothing is torn. Super. And the guys who receive them are very satisfied,” Bogdan said.

There are also sleeping bags that can protect from the cold up to -15 C. More than 200 sleeping bags have been sent off within two months.

The activist Oleg Babayevski of the Confederation of Ukrainians in Latvia said that "the main things are, of course, three jeeps, where one of them has special equipment for weapons, soldier uniforms, and dry food, which can be heated at any moment, simply by pouring water on it. We are still waiting for two busses, who are also already with cargo, to see how much is going to Ukraine".
