From June 8 to 12, in the vicinity of Jēkabpils and Ogre, as well as in the Ādaži military base, international military training “Knight Swift 22” will take place, the National Armed Forces (NBS) said June 7.

The training takes place to improve the compatibility of the NBS with the command-management elements of the international division and allied national units.

The multinational division headquarters “Ziemeļi” together with the Land Force Mechanised Infantry Brigade, National Guard 2nd Vidzeme Brigade, National Guard 3rd Latgale Brigade, the Danish Armed Forces Units deployed in Latvia, will train together.  Unlike other headquarters training, the units will also conduct field reconnaissance on the ground and in the air using military helicopters.

During training from June 8 to 12, residents of Latgale and Vidzeme are asked not to worry about hearing and seeing military helicopter and machinery movement around Jēkabpils and Rēzekne, as well as around Ādaži.
