NATO STRATCOMCOE talks "Communication Risk"

Take note – story published 3 years ago

The Rīga-based NATO Strategic Communications Center of Excellence (STRATCOMCOE) has another in its series of online conversations taking place this week.

This time the topic is  "Communication Risk" with Prof. Rasmus Kleis Nielsen (Director, Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at the University of Oxford), Dr. Rod Lamberts (Deputy Director, Australian National Centre for the Public Awareness of Science) and Mr. Ben Heap (Senior Expert, NATO StratCom COE).

"During a crisis, people want to take informed decisions, to protect themselves and their loved ones. They hope that science and authority can provide answers. With trust in government already under serious strain and conspiracy theories spreading online, the right information often can’t cut through. Looking for certainty in turbulent times, are the public getting the advice they need, and how can institutions be heard above the noise?" asks advance publicity material.

This event will be livestreamed on 27 MAY 16:00 Rīga time (GMT+3) on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter, and we will have it on this page at LSM, too.
