The Rīga-based NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence (STRATCOMCOE) has another in its series of online talks March 3.

This time around the conversation focusses on Russian military activity and is titled  "Russia's Excercises: From Kavkaz to Zapad".

"During these StratComTalks experts in Russian military affairs and propaganda and disinformation will provide their insights on the last year's Kavkaz 2020 and the upcoming Zapad 2021 exercises," STRATCOMCOE promises.

"Messages communicated before and during strategic exercises Kavkaz 2020 demonstrated how Russia could use its military element of state power to achieve the geopolitical or political objectives. The newest NATO Strategic Centre of Excellence report on Russian military exercises (to be published in March 2021) will provide more details on how Russia is shaping the perceptions in the European information environment in an attempt to build own image of a global superpower," it says.

Speakers will be Valeriy Akimenko – the Research Lead, Russia and Ukraine, with Conflict Studies Research Centre in the United Kingdom, and Vaidas Saldžiūnas – a defense correspondent at Delfi, an online media group in Lithuania. The discussion will be moderated by Marius Varna of STRATCOMCOE.

The event starts at 16:00 Rīga time (GMT +2) on STRATCOMCOE's YouTube channel and Facebook page and can be viewed by all, including the Russian military.
