High-school exams in Latvia show best results in English

For students of Year 12 this year, the best average results for centralized exams were in English, but worst in math, the National Educational Content Center reported on July 14.

At the optimal level in English, the average score was 63%, 54% in Latvian, and 35% in math.

At the optimal level of the math exams, 8.71% of pupils failed to get the minimum required 10% score.

On the other hand, for the highest-level exams, the average rating in English was 65%, 56% in Latvian, and 60% in math.

In 9th-grade exams, too, students did best in English and worst in math.
