All state-paid school computers delivered to municipalities

Take note – story published 3 years ago

Before Christmas, all promised 6200 portable computers for schools have been delivered to Latvian municipalities, the Ministry of Education and Science said December 22.

After the winter holiday, more than 400 pupils and educators will be able to use the new computers in both remote and onsite learning.

The first 1525 computers went to many municipalities at the beginning of December, and they could be used by the schools at the end of the first semester. Schools are happy to have the technology delivered because it makes it easier to work, given that many computers at home are relatively old.

The Ministry acknowledged that the purchase of computers in Europe as a whole has been a very stressed aspect due to high demand caused by COVID-19. These factors affected both the price of computers and the delivery deadlines.
