The Latvian artificial intelligence and language processing company Tilde has created a virtual assistant HelpUkraineBot, providing information on giving and receiving assistance to Ukrainian people in Latvia, LSM reported March 8.

The bot is available in Latvian, English, and Ukrainian. For Latvian residents, it provides information on how to help Ukrainian war refugees and Ukraine in general.

For the refugees, it provides key information on staying in Latvia, assistance options, healthcare, work, residence, visas and other information.

The HelpUkraine bot is available on the website helpukrainebot.com

Governmental and municipal websites, NGOs and businesses are invited to add the bot to their websites.

“When the Russian invasion began, together with our colleagues, we discussed how we could help Ukraine not only financially, but also through our own artificial intelligence technologies. The virtual assistant, HelpUkraineBot, is a “Tilde” employee initiative that has been implemented with great confidence in record time. We have taught the virtual assistant the essential information that we will regularly supplement and restore. We very much hope that this will help to provide and receive support to ease some of the immeasurable suffering caused by the war,” said Andrejs Vasiļjevs, the company's head.
