The program is called Service Design Strategies and Innovations: a "new international Masters in Northern Europe with a focus on service design, management, and leadership".
It is planned to launch the program in summer 2021. The language of studies will be English.
At the beginning of February, the Art Academy of Latvia (LMA), together with the University of Lapland in Finland, as well as the associate partners – Stockholm School of Economics in Riga, Estonian Academy of Arts, the municipality of Kuldīga and the association Kuldīga Artists' Residence – signed an agreement regarding the international master-level study program “Service Design Strategies and Innovations” implementation.
It is planned that graduates will receive a double diploma – the diploma of the Art Academy of Latvia and University of Lapland, LMA representatives said.
The content of the study program – service design – aims at a set of knowledge, skills and competences so that graduates can bring change in public and private sector companies and organizations. “According to the World Bank, the share of the services sector in gross domestic product of the European Union and the OECD countries exceeds 70% and employs around 90% of the economically active population,” LMA said.
