Pupils and teachers can now avoid quarantine in Latvia

Take note – story published 2 years ago

As of February 14, school employees and students don't have to observe quarantine if they have become contact persons of Covid-19 infection, Latvian Radio reported.

The changes are based on the fact that the Covid-19 incidence rate in the child and youth age group tends to stabilize.

At the same time, routine screening tests will be maintained in education institutions at primary and secondary levels in order to detect infections as soon as possible, including among contacts.

The exception to quarantine applies only to participation in the educational process in school, interest education, and vocational orientation education, and contact persons are not allowed to go to other public places.
