Pupils will have to wear masks at schools in Latvia

Take note – story published 3 years ago

Government decided January 12 not to change the requirement that all pupils wear face masks at schools.

This requirement was met with great resistance from the public. Health experts decided, though, that wearing masks is necessary, as pupils and teachers spend 40 minutes in a closed room which is a highly infectious setting.

Health experts said that masks are safe for pupils and necessary to avoid not only Covid-19 but other infections.

Thus, on January 25, when learning on-site resumes for younger pupils, all pupils and teachers will have to wear masks at school.
