Public actively reports environmental offenses, authority says

This year, the State Environmental Service (VVD) app "Environmental SOS" (Vides SOS) has received more than 3,000 reports of various violations – this is 26% more than the third quarter last year, VVD said.

Residents of Rīga and its vicinity have reported the most actively.

A large number of reports have been on offensive odors, possible waste mismanagement, possible water pollution, and threats to fish resources.

VVD expresses its gratitude to any resident who reports potential environmental violations to the VVD and informs that in cases where immediate response is required (odors, water pollution, dust, illegal fishing, etc.), VVD can be contacted by +371 26338800 every day from 7 to 23.
