There are different views among park visitors about changing the name.
“I don't understand. No. [..] Monuments, statuettes, names. Why is it all to be confused?” said Viktorija.
“I see it as a consistent action. If they get rid of something about Russia everywhere now, why not here? It must be consistent, either everywhere or not at all,” said Vladlens Rožnovs.
Others believe that it is right to return to the name that the garden was initially given.
“If it's a rejuvenation of traditions, if the modern society understands how this garden was founded and who founded it, it's great,” Ukrainian citizen Viktoria said.
