10% of Latvians have got first Covid jab

So far 10.06% of the population have received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine in Latvia, according to data from the National Health Service, LETA reported April 21.

Yesterday, 4,697 people got the first jab against Covid-19, while another 1,531 people completed the vaccination cycle with a second dose. A total of 6,228 people were vaccinated on Tuesday, April 20.

The number of people who received second shots on Tuesday reached the second-largest figure since the start of the vaccination process. It was bigger only on February 2, when the second dose was received by 1,673 people.

About a third of those who got their first shots on Tuesday were people over the age of 60, each fourth being a person with chronic diseases. On Tuesday, more than 730 employees of educational establishments also received the first dose of the vaccine.

So far 10.06% of the population have received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine, while vaccination cycle is completed by 1.6% of the population.
