Of the 3,132 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 6.5% were positive. The 14-day cumulative morbidity rate per 100,000 population fell from 515.8 Saturday to 501.1 Sunday.
Unfortunately, six more Covid-related deaths were confirmed. All of the fatalities were aged 70 years or over and none were fully vaccinated. The total death toll since the start of the pandemic now stands at 4,503.
Sunday data from the National Health Service show 497 patients being treated in hospital with 83 displaying serious symptoms.
In the other Baltic states, Estonia reported 433 new cases and 2 deaths, and Lithuania reported 1,112 cases and 14 deaths.

If you have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, or you have fully recovered from a confirmed case of it, you can obtain a digital certificate attesting to your status at the website https://covid19sertifikats.lv.
Latvia is also part of the European Union's wider Covid-19 certification scheme. All arrivals to the country (including returnees) need to fill in an electronic declaration prior to coming to Latvia. It is available at the website covidpass.lv.
