Of the newly-confirmed cases, 2,308 cases were recorded in unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated people, while 4,217 were fully vaccinated.
Out of 14,444 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 45.2% were positive. The 14-day cumulative incidence rate per 100,000 of the population declined from 5,235 Friday to 5046.0 Saturday. Since the beginning of the pandemic 729,609 Covid-19 cases have now been recorded among Latvia's 1.9 million population.

Sadly, 23 Covid-related deaths were also confirmed. All victims were aged 50 years or older. Nine of the dead were fully vaccinated. The total death toll since the beginning of the pandemic stands at 5,419.
Saturday hospital data from the National Health Service show 972 patients being treated in hospitals (down on Friday's 1,082). 123 patients were admitted and 208 were discharged during the previous 24 hours. 37 patients are displaying serious symptoms.

If you have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, or you have fully recovered from a confirmed case of it, you can obtain a digital certificate attesting to your status at the website https://covid19sertifikats.lv.
